The Myth behind Fruit Juice

Picture
I have never been a fan of drinking juice or soft drink because even as a child I always find a glass of water more enjoyable. However, my wonderful husband and beautiful children seem to be my opposite and love to drink juice. In my effort to help them join my team of consuming more water than juice, which my husband is already on board, I found this great article published by CNN, stating, "Fruit juice is not as nutritious as fresh fruit, but can be a healthy part of your diet, only if it is consumed in small portions."

The Human Microbiome

Picture
My kids are terrified when I try to explain to them that inside our body reside what we called the human microbiome composed of bacteria, archaea, viruses and eukaryotic microbes. Fortunately, it does not have the same effects on adults, because in order to obtain optimal health and wellness, we must understand the human microbiome and its impacts on our well-being for both good and bad bacteria lied inside our intestine. Attaining a healthy gut microbiome composed mostly of good bacterial is a key to better health and wellness.

The Danger of Trans Fat

Picture
According to this article published by bestselling author and globally recognized scientific researcher in clean foods, Mike Adams "the average Americans consume about 5 pounds of trans each year much of which comes from vegetable oil tat we one thought was safe". Trans fats is known to raise your LDL (bad cholesterol) while lowering your HDL (good cholesterol), however, it is still found in commercially prepared foods such as French fries, baked goods and processed foods. Additionally, research conducted on both animals and humans have showed that consuming trans-fat can influence the amount of good and bad bacteria in our intestines.
