EF 310 FITT & PROS Project

Note

I will highly recommend to anyone who planned to begin physical activities to schedule a visit with their primary care to ensure that there are no medical issues and restrains to certain physical activities. Afterwards, I will recommend that you find a good support team because it can make a difference in your success and attempt to include physical activities as part of your daily life habits.

Additionally, I will recommend downloading a health and fitness Apps because recent study proves that "participants who use fitness Apps were much more active compared to nonusers." (18 Best Health and Fitness Apps of 2018, 2018) I am old fashioned and enjoy keeping a journal because not only do I get to track my physical activities and nutritional intake, I can also write about how I feel about the day and occasionally, I draw something pleasant in my journal.

For the older generation and your children such as your mother or middle class student, I will recommend investing on a FIT BIT to monitor your steps and the number of calories burned at the end of the day because this will provide you with visual progress to encourage you to challenge yourself. (Williams, 2018)

Attached are four case studies assimilation that I had to assess a physical assessment and provide a physical activity recommendation for each case study as part of a classroom project.
Case Study: Justin                                                                                           Case Study: Carl

Justin is a 13 years old male in 7th grade facing obesity due to inactivity and poor nutrition. Without a proper physical activities and diet plan, Justin is more likely to suffer from diabetes, cardio vascular diseases and depression as he ages. (Physical Inactivity, 2018) Justin has acquired a good understanding of the role of physical activities and proper nutrition for his well-being due to a home economics class that he is currently taking despite the facts that he comes from a family that does not understand nor encourage physical activities or prepare healthy meals. Justin enjoys playing football and seems to have no physical impairments.

Justin is a  young, brave and smart young man who understand the importance of physical activities and proper nutrition to maintain his well-being. With the right support and mind-set, he will be able to lose the weight, eat healthy, make physical activities a daily habit and probably encourage his family toward a healthier path.

Case Study: Sally

Sally is a 65 years female and full time administrator assistant with minimal to almost on-existent physical activities. Her medical conditions include type 2 diabetes, overweight and high blood pressure. Furthermore, Sally has a part time jobs that she works for about 15 to 20 hours a week while caring for her disabled husband and nine years old grandchild. Sally is in denial of her medical conditions and is not educated about the role of proper nutrition and physical activities on her well-being.

Without the proper mind-set, implementing daily physical activities is hard to accomplish. In the case of Sally, a support system and proper education is imperative for her to succeed to adjusting to daily physical activities and proper meal plan. (Physical inactivity, poor diet and smoking linked to disability in older population, 2013)

Carl is a young 21 years old male, junior in college who would like to maintain his current physique. Carl does not have no medical conditions nor physical impairments that might restrain him from conducting certain physical activities, although he carries an albuterol inhaler on his person. Carl enjoys walking to school on a daily basis, participate in his school gym weight training and even play sports during the weekend with his classmates and friends.

In addition to the proposed activity recommendation that I have planned for Carl, I would suggest to him to download a fitness Apps such as MyFitnessPal because not only will this App monitor his progress and motivates him, it will personalize his goals based on his body type and food that he is eating.

Case Study: Jennifer

Jennifer, mother of three young children, 35 years old female who works full time and enjoys leisure walk as a source of physical activity. Her medical conditions include high blood pressure, overweight and she is at risk for heart diseases and type 2 diabetes. Jennifer is unable to maintain her current physical activity due to a busy schedule. Jennifer is quite aware of the current situation and is ready to lose the weight and maintain her daily physical activities for her well-being's sake.

I suggested to the addition of the physical activity recommendation that I created for Jennifer, she should invest on a Wii system and buy exercise games that the whole family can enjoy when she faces time constrains. (Robertson, 2008) Jennifer should attempt top walk for 15 to 30 minutes during her lunch when feasible.
